My Bonder
Ok I'm sorta new to bonding and I want to see what yall think of my build. Criticize if you want, if you have better ideas let me know. I give some credit to magicbox cuz i based it off his.
I have a sup rune of Prot, and minors in Healing and Divine. I maxed out Prot and Divine and added the rest into healing
Skills
1. Healing Touch- quick self heal...with divine it does 84 healin
2. Shield Guardian
3. Shielding Hands
4. Reversal of Fortune
5. Boon Sig {Elite}--from Magicbox
6. Blessed Sig-5 man sorrows, gain 12 energy off of 4 LB's
7. Life Bond
8. Rez-Figured this would be best rez to use..since rebirth would suck away all my energy
Wpn I use is Keplets Refuge.
I've only used this on 5 man sorrows. I haven't tested it on other groups/areas. I think this would be good bonding for PvP just sub in Rez Sig. But I am not sure. Well let me know what you think

It's probably OK. I started with something similar before working my way up to maintaining far more bonds with a Mo/Me.
Personally I like a bonder to bring Life Barrier. And I think a condition or hex removal skill might be more useful than Shielding Hands, for example in SF the Rangers cause bleeding a lot and Mend Condition will heal for loads for 5 energy. And a bonder's energy management in battle usually comes from Balthazar's Spirit on himself so that the Life Bond damage gives him energy. I also find it a bad idea to bring 10 energy heals in a bonder, but I usually maintain a lot more than 4 bonds.
For res a bonder can still bring Rebirth if you want. The bonder shouldn't really be resurrecting anyone unless he is the last alive, it's the other monk's job to heal and res in SF, the bonder just sits at the back while everybody takes half or quarter damage. Often if the bonder comes forward and tries to heal, the bonder gets attacked, his health goes below 50%, Life Barrier disappears, everybody starts taking more damage, the s**t hits the fan, and nobody is happy.

Bring both if you can manage it, and cast Life Bond first followed by Life Barrier. If you do it this way, you'll take almost no damage. If you need more energy management, you might considering bringing Essence Bond and putting it on the tank in SF. Also you can bring Mantra of Inscriptions to make Blessed Signet recharge faster. It works even with low Inspiration.

Balthazar's Spirit will help you out, whenever you get a trigger you'll get energy. Mantra of inscriptions will help out your blessed signet.

Don't bother attempting to play bonder in PvP. No. 1 as the monk you will be the primary target -- and since a bonder's skills are centered around supporting everyone else but himself, you will be dead in under 3 seconds.
Another point worth mentioning, you att points should be entirely devoted to Divine and Prot(possibly remainder in insp if you are using mantra of inscriptions).
Core bonder build:
Life Barrier
Life Bond
Blessed Sig
Balz spirit
------
what you add to it depends on what you plan on doing. For example when I use to SF bond I would also take:
RoF
Mend Condition
Mantra of Insciptions
Divine Boon
With these additional skills i could help heal when the battle heated up and energy was an endless flow of +1's.
Edit: accidentally typed heal instead of prot

While I haven't gone SF farming for quite a while, this is the bonder build that I like to use. I've used this in areas like Raisu Palace, so it does hold up.
1) Reversal of Fortune
2) Blessed Light
3) Signet of Devotion
4) Blessed Signet
5) Mantra of Inscriptions
6) Life Bond
7) Balthazar's Spirit
8) Free (I've used stuff like Celestial Signet, Rez Signet, Aegis, Rebirth. It varies on the situation)
* Blessed Light is a big heal, hex removal, and condition removal all in one. It frees a lot of room on the skill bar because it does it all.
* If using Life Barrier, use it before Life Bond. You will take less damage this way as damage is reduced and then redirected to you and further reduced.
* If you are going to use a rez, at least consider bring Resurrection Signet instead of anything else, especially in SF farming where you will be killing a lot of bosses and it gets recharged often. If your team needs you to rez a lot, then your team is not doing well enough anyways.
* Use Balthazar's Spirit (at Smiting 0) because of the way it interacts with Life Bond so you get energy even with all those "-0". This is what gives you "unlimited" energy during the heat of battle.

ump is right, I had it mixed up in my post. You want to cast Barrier first, then Bond.

I think he meant Prot. It was probably a typo.
For SF, Mend Condition is a good spell to bring also. It heals for a ridiculous amount once people start getting stacked with conditions. Signet of Devotion is also good, since it costs nothing and synergizes with Mantra of Inscriptions.

as a bonder, i only bring signet of devotion for healing. no energy cost and just a supplement to the dedicated healer.
why does no one include aegis in their bonding builds? seems essential to me. with all of the points into prot, aegis can really save your party's ass.
i stick to life bond, balthazar's spirit (used on yourself, of course), and signet of devotion as the core bonding build. energy management isn't an issue as long as the tanks are effectively tanking.
i use shield of regeneration as the elite. helps with spike damage and great prot for its duration. fill it out with some condition removal and maybe prot spirit.
i go as mo/mes...but stick to monk skills right now.

Since most bonders use Life Barrier, damage is mitigated to the point that Aegis becomes largely unnecessary. When everyone is taking 25% damage or less, the healer should be able to easily cover the damage that does get though. Mend Condition is a nice addition because degen isn't reduced by bonds, plus it offers a nice heal with prot/DF specced so high.
For a general purpose bonder, I'd suggest something along these lines:
DF 13 (12+1)
Prot 16 (12+1+3)
Note: Having 16 prot is ideal, but if you're like me you'll never use a prot scalp of sup prot for anything but bonding. When I play bonder, I usually use my DF scalp then just swap in a armor piece with a sup prot rune from my 55 armor set (thus, 14 DF and 15 prot). The difference is negligible to the point that no one will even notice unless you tell them, and then they might throw a hissy fit; in short, don't tell them.
Life Barrier {E}
Life Bond
Essence Bond (put on the main tank)
Blessed Signet
Signet of Devotion
Mantra of Inscriptions
Mend Condition
Rebirth

I haven't bonded in SF in so long, but I believe this was the build I took:
Life Barrier {E}
Life Bond
Balthazar's Sprit
Essence Bond/Signet of Devotion
Mantra of Inscriptions/Protective Spirit
Blessed Signet
Mend Condition
Rebirth
All points were put into Prot/Divine, and any left over usually went into Inspiration Magic.
Another bond build I use sometimes is when I play at Fort Aspenwood on the Kurzick side, but there's a tad bit of healing involved in this one:
Life Barrier {E}
Life Bond
Essence Bond
Blessed Signet
Protective Spirit
Mending/Life Attunement
Dwayna's Kiss
Mend Condition
I wouldn't recommend this for SF, since healing isn't your priority there if you're bond. :P
Points are still highest in prot then divine, and I usually get my healing to 9/10 since Dwayna's Kiss heals for quite a bit with all those enchants on the NPC. If they get stripped, you're dead meat. :0 Har.

Used bonding yesterday in ThK mission.
We also had a boon-prot in our team.
Barrier, Bond, Balt sp, Blessed sig, Mantra Inscr. RoF, Signet of Devotion, Res.
During walk to fort, ran Bond on 5 people (our only W was AFK for entire mission, only to skip the last cutscene.... Other monk had been afk on some part near the fort, but group realised this too late. But we survived)
In the fort, ran bond on 6 (when afk, you don't get bond) + king while camping the king for most of the time.
Used Barrier on people getting beaten up while other monk was healing others.
Spammed RoF a couple of times, also SoD.
Had some minor energy problems, because minions were taking all the damage
But MM did bring BR, which I needed once (had Barrier on a couple of people and forgot to cast mantra during Blessed sig).

Wrong, if you are any good at kiting, you should not die. Through balts spirit, life bond, and blessed signet, your energy gain is huge, allowing you to use elite prot/divine spells often.
My most effective TA/RA monk build is blessed light bonder. With 2 condition removals, 2 hex removals, and 2 straight heals (inspired hex, mend ailment, RoF, and BL), it is really easy to survive.
